The Unconventional Gage - A fabulous retrospective exhibition
The exhibition celebrated Elizabeth's inspirations and passions from the time she left the Sir John Cass college in 1968 to the present day. Two hundred and eighty jewels were on display, over 80 percent borrowed back from clients all over the world, without whose generosity this show could never have happened. This once in a lifetime show gave the hundreds of visitors a unique opportunity to view fabulous pieces of jewellery and appreciate the true depth and diversity of Elizabeth's work.
The exhibition affirmed Elizabeth's reputation for designing the most unique and special jewels, each one with its own character, yet all part of Elizabeth's extraordinary imagination. "To me, jewellery is an art form and this is always the inspiration behind my work. I use colour, shape and detail to portray my vision and it is the unique properties of each stone, and the care with which it is made, that gives life and significance to each jewel", says Elizabeth.
For those who missed the show or wish to re-visit it, her book of the same title, contains illustrations of many of the pieces exhibited.
